Born August 26, 1959 in TSvetnoye village, Volodarsky district of Astrakhan region.
Graduated in 1981 from Astrakhan Pedagogical Institute.
Candidate degree in economics.
October, 1991, appointed first deputy head of Administration of Astrakhan region.
2003, the Senior lecturer of the Astrakhan State University.
August 17, 2004, acting governor of Astrakhan region.
December 5, 2004, elected governor of Astrakhan region with 65,34% of the vote.
Married, with two daughters.
Hobbies: tennis, handball, mushroom gathering.
