ZAVADNIKOV, Valentin Georgyevich
Chairman of the Federation Council Committee for Industrial Policy
Born April 30, 1963 in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine.
Graduated in 1985 from the Far Eastern Admiral Nevelsky Higher Engineering School.
1985-1989, engineer of Nakhodka steamship line.
1989- 1991, head of foreign ties department, Dialog-Nakhodka joint venture; co-authored law on free economic zone in the city of Nakhodka.
1991- first deputy chairman of Nakhodka city Council of People’s Deputies
1992 - 1994, financial director of administrative committee, Nakhodka free economic zone.
1994 - 1995, chairman of the board of directors, Moscow Financial and Investment Co.
1995 - 1996, representative of Averbach Grayson & Co. in New York, US.
1996 - 1998, vice-chairman of the Federal Commission for the Securities Market.
1998-2001, vice-chairman of the board, Unified Energy System of Russia (RAO EES).
Since September 2001, Federation Council member of the for Saratov region.
Since February 2002, chairman of the Committee for Industrial Policy and member of the Commission for Supervising Federation Council Activities.
