TITOV, Konstantin Alexeyevich
Former Governor of Samara region

Titov

Born October 30, 1944 in Moscow.

Graduated in 1968 from Kuybyshev Air Institute (now - Samara State Aeronautic University).

Doctor of economics.

March, 1990, elected deputy of the Samara City Council of people's deputies.
August 31, 1991, appointed head of Administration of Samara region by the decree of Boris Yeltsin.
December, 1993, elected to the Federation Council.
1996 - 2002, head of Committee for budget and tax policy.
1998, named "Governor of the year".
1996, elected governor of Samara region.
July 2, 2000, re-elected to this post.

Resignation accepted by President Putin 26th August 2007. replaced by AvtoVAZ CEO Vladimir Artyakov as acting governor. Artyakov is a formerDeputy General Director of Rosoboronexport and CEO fo Avtovaz, whose main production plant is in Togliatti in Samara. 

Titov is married with one son and two grandsons.
