 Born May 1, 1937 in the village of Afipsip, Teuchezhsky district, Krasnodar territory.
Jan. 13, 2002, elected president of the Republic of Adygeya with 62,84% of the vote.
Member of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Moscow.
Holds a degree in technical science; holds the patent on two inventions in the goldminig industry.
