Born April 15, 1960 in Ashkhabad (Turkmenia) in a family of university professors

1982 - graduated from the law faculty of Moscow State University
1982-1986 - took graduate courses at the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences

1986- 1990 - worked as a junior, then senior researcher, then department head at the Scientific Center, Institute of Youth Problems under the Komsomol Central Committee and the USSR State Labor Committee
1990 - 1991 - chief specialist, consultant, Moscow Municipal Council of People's Deputies.
1991 - 1992 - head, Social and Political Analysis and Forecasting Department, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic
1992 - 1993 - consultant to the President Administration.
1993 - 1995 - adviser to Sergei Shakhray, Deputy Prime Minister.
1995 - 1997 - vice-president of Interfax news agency
1997- adviser to Boris Nemtsov, First Deputy Prime Minister
October 1997-May 1998 - senior reviewer for the President
May 1998 - September 1998 - head of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Prime Minister Sergei Kirienko
September 16, 1998 - June 2000 - deputy Head of the President Administration in charge of public relations and speechwriters
July 1999 - headed a special political planning directorate, which was responsible for forecasts of development in Russia
June 4, 2000 - became the Deputy Head of the President Administration, in charge of public relations and work with speechwriters.
Mar. 2004-present -  presidential aide.

Married, with one son (born 1980).
