Born January 30, 1940 in Omsk
1965 - graduated from the S.M. Kirov Institute of Agriculture in Omsk
1986 - graduated from the Academy of Social sciences
November 11, 1991 - appointed governor of Omsk region.
December 17, 1995 - elected governor of Omsk region with 70% of the vote
September 5, 1999 and September 7, 2003, reelected to this post
March 12, 2001- appointed member of the presidium of the State Council by decree of the President of Russian Federation.
Married, with two sons.
