Sergei Viktorovich Lavrov (Сергей Викторович Лавров) was born March 21, 1950 in Moscow

1972 - graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).

1988-1990- Deputy head of the Department of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
1990-1992 - Director of the Department of International Organizations and Global Issues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
1992-1994 - Deputy foreign minister of the Russian Federation
1994-2004 - Permanent representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations
March 9, 2004 - appointed Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation.
May 12, 2008 - reappointed Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation


Married, has one daughter
