BEGLOV, Alexander Dmitryevich
Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation, Head of the Presidential Control Department

 

Alexander Beglov (Александр Дмитриевич Беглов) was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 19 1956. He graduated from the Leningrad Engineering and Building Institute in 1983 and the North-West Academy of Government Service in 2003.

Beglov headed the administration of the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg from 1999 to 2002, when he became a deputy to St. Petersburg Governor Vladimir Yakovlev. After Yakovlev's early resignation in June 2003 and until Valentina Matviyenko's inauguration in October, he served as acting governor.

Since May of 2004 Beglov has been a presidential aide and head of the Presidential Control Department. In 2008 he was also appointed deputy chief of staff of the Presidential Executive Office of the Russian Federation. Beglov is married and has a daughter.
