ARTAMONOV, Anatoly Dmitriyevich
Governor of Kaluga region
Anatoly Artamonov (Анатолий Дмитриевич Артамонов) was born in 1952, in the village of Krasnoye Kaluga region. In 1974 he graduated from the V.P. Goryachkin Institute for Agricultural Engineering in Moscow.
Artamonov was elected vice-governor of the Kaluga region in November 1996. In late 2000 he was elected governor of the region, securing 56.72% of the vote. He was re-elected governor in March of 2004, and nominated by then- President Vladimir Putin to retain his position for a further five years in July 2005.
Artamonov is married and has a son and daughter.
