Economy: Vladimir is one of Russia's most economically developed regions and the region's industry is highly diversified.  The most important industries are engineering and metalworking, light industry, food, glass, forestry and woodworking, building materials, and chemicals and petrochemicals.  Tourism is also developed in the area as several cities on the Golden Ring are located there.
