Economy: Due to its location, the region's economy is focused on the fishing and shipping industries. The territory also produces huge amounts of coal and processes imported liquid fuel from Khabarovsk. Primorye is attempting to use its unique natural setting to promote tourism and the territory includes several large nature preserves.
