At the end of August, Magomed Yevloyev, the most vocal oppositionist of the government in the volatile Russian region of Ingushetia, was shot dead whilst in police custody – inside a police car. This act, a severe yet botched-up case of political coercion, only serves to highlight the inadequate and undisciplined methods taken in administrating this troubled part of the country.
