Just Doing the Job

April 26 marked the 23 anniversary of the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history, when an explosion destroyed the Unit 4 reactor at the Chernobyl nuclear power station in northern Ukraine. It brought death and devastation to the local community, where the effects are still being felt today, and spread toxic radioactive fallout throughout Europe. But despite several generations’ battle with the results of the poisoning, work in Chernobyl and life in the affected region goes on.
