August 2009 marks ten years since Vladimir Putin appeared on Russia’s national stage as the last of President Boris Yeltsin’s prime ministers. Ever since then, the Russian political system and the Russian national psyche have been focused on Putin, who has gradually turned into a public figure of international scale.
