Last Sunday, the Russian national hockey team won its first World Title in 15 years by beating the hosting Canadian team on its own ice. This was also the third time in the past four years that Russians captured medals at a World Championship, spurring talk of the past winning traditions getting revived. But while the winning streak is undeniable, one of the two most popular sports in Russia still faces many challenges.
