Metropolitan Laurus (Shkurla), the head of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, who led the once bitterly anti-Moscow church in exile toward its widely publicized reconciliation with the Moscow Patriarchate last year, died quietly Sunday in Jordanville, NY. He was 80.
