Vladimir Pozner, Savik Shuster and Vladimir Solovyov all host public-affairs programs on Russian television, which again became the center of questions about freedom of the press with the firing of one of their colleagues over an interview he aired in June. the firing may have been more a question of corporate politics, the three believe that control over the country’s media, particularly electronic, is an endemic problem.
