Geography: Primorsky Territory is located in the far south east of Russia, on the shore of the Sea of Japan.

Ethnic make-up: More than 90 nationalities including Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, Germans and Koreans in the cities. Native peoples such as Nanais, Udeges, Oroks, Evens, and Orochis make up less than 1% of the territory's population.

Economy: The region's economy is focused on the fishing and shipping industries. The territory also produces huge amounts of coal and processes imported liquid fuel from Khabarovsk. Primorsky Territory is attempting to use its unique natural setting to promote tourism and the territory includes several large nature preserves.
