Viktor Ishayev (Виктор Иванович Ишаев) was born April 16, 1948 in the village of Sergeyevka in the Kemerovo region. A Russian politician, he has served as presidential envoy to the Far East Federal District since 2009.
Ishayev started his career in 1964 at the Khabarovsk shipbuilding plant, rising through the factory's ranks to become deputy director. From 1971 to 1973 he completed his military service.
From 1988 to 1990 Ishayev served as director of the Sidorenko Aluminum Structures Factory in Khabarovsk. He then moved into politics, becoming head of the executive committee of Khabarovsk Territory. In October 1991 he was named head of the administration of Khabarovsk Territory.
In November 2001 Ishayev was appointed governor of Khabarovsk Territory and was reappointed in December 2004.
On April 30, 2009, Ishayev was named presidential envoy to the Far East Federal District.
Ishayev is married and has two children.
